As part of the initiative "Digital Innovation Hub Süd (DIH SÜD)", small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the provinces of Burgenland, Carinthia, East Tyrol and Styria are advised on the path to digitaliization. The goal is to create innovation and research networks that provide targeted support for domestic SMEs in their digitization projects.
 
In addition to the existing DIH SÜD initiative, the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences offers consulting specifically for manufacturing companies in Carinthia as part of the "Digital Innovation Hub smartfab Carinthia". In this context, companies are advised on individual possibilities for increasing production by means of digitalization. In addition, the Digital Innovation Hub smartfab Carinthia also provides advice on the ecological transformation of companies. For example, the principle of the circular economy is given greater consideration, which involves the multiple use of products or the recycling of individual parts. As part of the consulting services, funding opportunities are defined that can be taken advantage of, and training and continuing education for employees is offered by means of webinars.
