On the basis of historical developments, the students explain the working principles and the design process for prestressed concrete structures. Taking into account modern products for prestressing concrete structures, the knowledge is applied in practical design situations. Thereby they take the requirements of detailing and execution into account and develop an understanding of the practical aspects.
