Based on the knowledge of the biological structure and the functions of cells and tissues, the students are able to recognize histological basic tissue types of selected specimens and to describe them morphologically. They have a profound knowledge of gynecological cytology and can associate physiological cell images with nomenclature.

Microscopy and morphology 1

  • Morphological hematology: repetitorium of blood cell morphology
  • Histology: morphological description of the basic tissue types, recognition of regular organ-specific tissue structures and cell images
  • Gynecological cytodiagnostics: nomenclature and microscopic description of cells in the gynecological cytopreparation (for example, according to Papanicolaou)
  • Clinical urinary cytology
  • Practical laboratory exercises: microscopy of hematological, histological and cytological specimens (blood smears, precipitates in histology, cervical smears, urinary sediments)
