Language of instruction German

The material composition and the manufacturing process of ultra-highperformance (fiber reinforced) concrete in its specialty and with its deviations from traditional concrete materials is learned.
The students understand how the improved material properties can be used with regard to structural performance and to what extent the currently available design approaches are considering them.
Relationships between material-specific topics and structural details are illustrated using practical examples.
The students are able to design a simple structure made of UHPC and roughly dimension it, taking into account the basic requirements of ultimate and serviceability limit state.

Construction Materials; Structural Analysis; Structural Concrete 1 and 2

  • UHPC as an innovative building material
  • Composition and mixing process
  • Essential design-related properties of UHPC
  • Introduction to the basic design approaches
  • Dimensioning of UHPC members
  • Structural aspects and Detailing
  • Development of UHPC members or simple structures
