Students are able to communicate in proper English with foreign language speakers and are able to understand cultural differences even if these differences are starting to disappear because of globalization.
They know about health care systems, their field of work abroad, vocational education and training as well as about differences in working life and daily life situations.
Students can communicate with colleagues and patients and they are able to explain and speak about their occupation outside work.
The cultural knowledge they gain contributes to everyday communication.
Students gain listening and speaking skills which are important in working and everyday life situations. They need to know what their colleagues and patients are saying. Telephone conversations and dialogues are used for gaining these competences.
Based on case studies students should be able to motivate and support colleagues and patients, they should work in teams and learn to express feelings and opinions.
They should develop cultural understanding such as Do's and Dont's, to lead cultivated conversations as well as small talk, understand different views and perspectives.

Information about general health care systems, educational backgrounds, everyday working life situations.
Presentation techniques: structure, logical organization, using electronic media, summarizing texts and dialogues effectively. Body language: showing interest and empathy.
