Theory:

  • Introduction and definition
    • Manufacturing processes, production machines, machine tools
  • Requirements for production machines
    • Work accuracy, cost-effectiveness, flexibility, environmental compatibility, volume output, integration capability, safety, repetition of the statistical treatment of measured variables
  • Design and assemblies of production machines
    • Basics, frame, guides, main drive, feed drive, main spindle, interfaces for tools and clamping devices, clamping devices, position measuring systems, control technology, NC programming methods
  • Classification of production machines - Overview
  • Selected production machines according to manufacturing process
    • Forming, cutting, joining, laser ablation machines, Rapid-Prototyping systems
  • Single machines and multi-machine systems
    • Stand-alone machines
    • Rigid and flexible multi-machine systems
  • Inserters and industrial robots
Practice:
  • Creation/modification of a CAD model for the CAD-CAM interface
  • Production of CNC workpieces using the CAD-CAM interface on selected CNC machines
  • Practical determination of statistical measured variables in production by means of measuring equipment and numerical and computer algebraic evaluation
  • Practical documentation of the production steps
