Students know the essential basics of social economy and understand the development and meaning of non-profit organisations (NPO) for the social sector.
The structures and processes of organisations are known to the students and they can relate to human resources and job sharing in organisations, name challenges and approaches to solutions.
They are able to identify tasks and responsibilities of management in social institutions and know about essential management tasks and roles as well as their possibilities and limits.

The course deals with in-depth fundamental principles of social economy and social management, provides an overview of tasks and areas of responsibility of non-profit management, and highlights the possibilities and limitations of professional action and decision-making in organisations.
The teaching content of this module relates to organisational processes and shaping frameworks, which have a significant influence on professional activity. Important functional areas in organisations, whose different tasks require specialised cooperation for the benefit of the organisation, are thematised.
Qualified and correctly deployed staff is an important prerequisite for successful NPOs, the last part of the course covers specific staff structures and tasks of human resource management. This part offers scope for discussion of individual management tasks and roles and thematises various human resource strategies for full-time and volunteer employees.
