The students can list the differences between traditional and digital business models. They can describe the consequences of digitalization for traditional business models and the characteristics of digital business models. The students can explain the connection between (digital) business models and ecosystems. They can apply methods to describe business models in case studies.

Digitalization has led to a strong link between the business model and IT-related aspects of a company. IT-related aspects may be responsible for a change in business models. This leads to new forms of business models. Additionally, company boundaries become blurred and new ecosystems emerge (for instance the product-service model).
