Students are able to understand and discuss industrial applications of power electronics on an advanced level of detail and expertise.
They have acquired a broad overview and insight on various relevant practical implementations of power electronic concepts to automotive, industrial and consumer-related energy conversion systems.
They know how to transfer and apply their academic knowledge of power electronic circuits and design methods to relevant use cases within the industrial environment of design, production and application of energy conversion systems.

  • Energy distribution, HVDC & Smart Grids
  • Automotive electronics (engine control, safety, comfort...)
  • Converters for hybrid electrical drives
  • Solar converter & storage systems

  • High efficiency converters based on wide Bandgap devices
  • Legal liability, patents, trade regulations
