On successful completion of the course, students can
• express themselves grammatically accurately and coherently using appropriate register and context specific vocabulary to clarify cause and effect, problems and solutions.
• conduct basic literature research and analysis.
• synthesize key information and arguments from a number of academic texts appropriately in written form.
• write an argumentative essay giving reasons in support of a particular viewpoint, citing relevant sources and using appropriate language.
• reflect upon and evaluate the content, language, structure and style of academic writing (self and peer evaluation) and identify personal language strengths and weaknesses and learning goals for improvement.
