The students are able to model and analyze structures in fields of structural- and bridge engineering in relation to vibration design. The focus of the analysis is to determine the structural behavior in regard to excitation of earthquakes. The modeling and numeric analysis follows with the aid of an FE-Program (e.g. RSTAB, Dlubal) and the program system MATLAB (MathWorks, Inc.).

Equation of motion in dynamics, element matrix (lumped mass, equivalent mass), ground displacement (excitation of earthquakes), modeling, natural vibration problem (undamped, damped), modal analysis, response spectrum, ultimate limit state analysis and geometric usability based on Eurocode 8 (EC 8)
