The students

  • are familiar with the theory of methodical design and in particular the four phases of product development according to VDI 2221 (Analysis, Conception, Design and Design).
  • are able to create requirement lists, function and effect structures as well as develop and compare different solution variants.
  • know and name the principle of holistic product development and take sustainability and resource efficiency into account in the development process.
  • are aware of material, technological and economic conditions as well as legal, environmental and human restrictions.
