Students are able to use basic management tools for discussion & moderation within learning and project teams.
They apply good scientific writing and style principles in their reports, know the format of a scientific paper, the process of peer review and are skilled in the art of professional presentation in front of an academic or industrial audience.

The course covers the following topics/contents:

  • Scientific writing & style
    • Structure of a scientific argument
    • Evidence, reasons, warrants and claims
    • Elements of a manuscript / paper
    • Citing references
    • The publishing and review process
    • Documentation of laboratory work
  • Presentation skills, discussion & moderation
    • Basics structure for delivering effective presentations
    • Presenting through voice, body language and audience engagement
    • Using visual aids
