The students are familiar with the basic requirements for carrying out biomedical analysis procedures and gain an overview of the functional sequence in the laboratory. They develop a basic understanding of laboratory hygiene, environmental and worker protection. Students are able to carry out and / or apply basic occupational tasks and methods (such as centrifugation, liquid handling, photometry, potentiometry, weighing and titration, calculation and preparation of solutions and dilutions, handling of chemicals, laboratory goods, etc.). The students can detect simple errors and are able to correct them. An understanding of the biomedical analysis process and its significance for the overall medical process has been developed, and students can describe and reflect on its distinctive elements and occupational tasks. They are familiar with the most common examination materials (whole blood, serum, plasma) and the particularities of obtaining the respective examination materials and are able to independently carry out the venous and capillary blood collection according to a doctor's order and can recognize life-threatening conditions and provide the corresponding first aid. Students can assess which data and parameters are necessary for patient or sample identification, and can properly manage the storage of chemicals, test materials, and reagents.
