The skills training in midwifery education serve to provide technical and scientific foundations and deepen to learn job-specific contexts and work processes, and skills and measures in the form of practical exercises in small groups to practice and reflect. Students are able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice and train performance skills. They acquire confidence in dealing with difficult situations in pathologies and complications by the previously acquired knowledge and skills will be specifically linked.

Theoretically imparted knowledge about regular and irregular patterns deviating from pregnancy and childbirth and their consequences for mother and child is linked with practical skills midwives and midwifery skills.
