  • Students are able to work with industry standard CAD tools for full-custom integrated circuit design, modelling, simulation.
  • They can generate mask layout of analog integrated circuits, are able to interpret required layout checks (e.g. DRC, LVS) and can fix eventual errors.
  • Students can use the CAD tools to carry out exercises and small projects.

  • Introduction to CAD tools - operating systems
  • Modelling and representation - design entry
  • Analog simulation tools
  • Mask layout design tools - extraction, DRC, ERC, LVS
Labs: All labs run in parallel to lectures and provide hands-on experience in using industry standard CAD tools.
Tutorials on:
  • The UNIX Operating System
  • Transistor level design tools
