Student will be able to:
Identify cultural-related factors that may affect the communication flow and create misunderstandings in academic and professional settings (seminar discussions, meetings and negotiations, correspondence, job applications, interviews, team work, etc.).
Develop their own strategies for successful cross-cultural communication.
Improve their language and communication skills for academic and professional genres while keeping the addressee in mind.

Barriers in intercultural communication
Culture analysis (ways to identify culture features)
Strategies for interpersonal/cross cultural competence
Technology and culture (presentation and discussions and write-ups of selected topics)
Language, communication and organizational culture: strategies for interpersonal/cross cultural competence
- Use of polite language  and constructed feedback
- The dynamics of team work
- Writing email (informal and formal language)
- Job application process
