The students are able to measure test data (force and acceleration) of laboratory models and to determine the natural frequencies and modes using modal analysis. Furthermore, they are able to use various methods for the analytical and numerical calculation of the vibration quantities and assess their quality. By changing the stiffness-, mass and damping parameters, they can adapt the vibration behavior of the respective structures to the requirements.

Introduction to experimental modal analysis (examinations on a vibrating table and using a pulse hammer)), analytical solutions (continuous mass method), solution using a selected displacement approach, consistent mass method of Bernoulli Beam, concentrated mass method.
The modeling and numeric analysis follows with the aid of an FE-Program (e.g. RSTAB, Dlubal) and the program system Matlab (The test data are generated using the "National MathWorks, Inc.).
The test data are generated using the "National Instruments" software and the Matlab program system (MathWorks, Inc.).
