The students are able to establish the connection between pathophysiological or pathobiochemical regulatory mechanisms of the human organism and the corresponding biomedical laboratory examinations and to assess the validity of the results. The students are able to professionally validate the results of biomedical analysis which are essential for the diagnosis and / or monitoring of neoplastic, inflammatory, hemostasiological or hematological disorders, other systemic diseases and metabolic disorders with regard to preanalytical prerequisites, assessment of relevant measurement parameters as well as the analyzes and interpretation of the results. In the case of systemic and metabolic diseases and for the purposes of screening, prevention and precaution, they are able to assign and to reason the appropriate biomedical methods and procedures in accordance with the diagnostic question.
Modules of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd semester
Clinical presentation, pathogenesis, indication and laboratory diagnostics as well as an overview of the therapy of selected systemic disorders (case-based exemplary problems and interpretation of clinical cases such as water and electrolyte balance and acid-base balance, inflammatory processes (including bacteremia, sepsis), transfusion - / transplantation reactions, autoimmune, rheumatic diseases, allergies, anemias, reactive blood cell changes, malignant hematological diseases, hemorrhagic diatheses, coagulopathies, disseminated tumors); gynecological and extragenital cytodiagnosis; analytics for screening and prevention
