1. Exchange our experience in preparing results froma SARS-CoV-2 variantmonitoring in a form comprehendible and useable for health professionals. Depending on the level of understanding of our service-users, we can highlight the significance of early detection of new Variants of Concern, as well as the capabilities and limitations ofWhole Genome Sequencing in achieving this.
2. Evaluate the current technical expertise and infrastructure in place for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based SARS-CoV-2 variant screening in the beneficiary countries and suggest necessary changes and additions in terms of personnel skills and infrastructure to enable this.
Develop training programs and provide training for country-specific specialists to acquire the basic knowledge needed to process real-world samples fromgenomicmaterial extracts to library preparation, sequencing,mutation calling, variant quantification, and reporting at a technical level.
4. Create and share protocols for both wet-lab and dry-lab operations and develop guidelines for the analysis of generated data for interpretation.
5. Provide comprehensive reporting and documentation of progress and results to the client, the UBA.
