The aims of the conference were to exchange experiences and knowledge and to bring together biosphere reserve managers, coordinators, scientists, representatives of the UNESCO MAB Secretariat, the MAB National Committee and partner institutions and associations. The EuroMAB network includes all European and North American countries participating in the UNESCO MAB programme and the World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
Due to the long-lasting, successful cooperation in the project ScienceLINKnockberge, the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences has the expertise to prepare a written documentation of the conference in the form of a conference volume. The content of the conference proceedings will be prepared by staff members of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Management of Conservation Areas, who will focus their expertise on the scientific documentation and relevant preparation of UNESCO and MAB strategies.
The planning and implementation activities for the production of the conference proceedings include the overall editing, finalisation of content and language, preparation of the annexes and lecture notes (in both languages) by the UNESCO Chair Team, in coordination with the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve.
