Checking public transport timetables:

The ÖBB (Austrian Rail Company) website allows you to check the train timetables and buy tickets. The ÖBB app "Wegfinder" is the official smartphone application for public transportation in Carinthia. In the app, you can enter the address you are at and the one you want to reach (for
instance: “Villach Hbf” for the main train station and “Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Villach Campus” or “Technologiepark” for our Campus in Villach), and all public transport options will be shown with the next buses or trains available.

Traveling by train in Carinthia:

Trains between the towns of Villach, Klagenfurt and Spittal are very convenient. Bus connections within the towns are also frequent and reliable. You can check connections conveniently on the Apps WEGFINDER and ÖBB. Check with your hotel to get the Wörthersee Plus Card, which allows you to travel for free on local trains (S-Bahn and REX-Regionalexpress – not valid on any other type of public transport!)
Bus lines connecting the Campus Villach with the city center are no. 8 and no.3, their frequency is
every quarter of an hour.

Klagenfurt:

CUAS Primoschgasse Campus is reachable by the bus line A, direction FH Kärnten (which is where you should get down). Please buy in advance a day-ticket for Klagenfurt (more practical than single tickets and cheaper from 3 trips – which we might need): All products -> Regional Tickets -> Carinthia -> Klagenfurt -> KL Day Ticket Klagenfurt (for Monday 17 March)

Villach:

CUAS Campus in Villach is reachable by bus. From Villach main train station (Hauptbahnhof), the bus lines 3 (direction St. Ulrich) and 8 (direction Technologiepark) go directly to the campus. You should get off the bus at the stop “Technologiepark” (the bus does not stop at every station; you need to press the red button “Stop” when the right station is announced). The entrance of CUAS campus Villach is right in front of you when you get out of the bus.
We recommend you buy in advance two day-tickets (one for Tuesday, one for Friday) – it is slightly more expensive (by 1€) than two single tickets, but single tickets are time-bound so really unpractical to buy in advance, and you would lose a lot of time if everyone buys them from the bus
driver.
To buy the day-tickets for Villach: All products -> Regional Tickets -> Carinthia -> Villach -> KL Day Ticket Villach (Tuesday 18 March; Friday 21 March)

Spittal:

The campus in Spittal is a 15-minute walk from the train station, so there is no need for bus tickets
on Thursday.
