We’re thrilled to introduce Marta Polizzi and Polona Zakrajšek, who are joining our team to help us reach new heights!

Polona Zakrajšek takes on the role of a junior researcher, bringing extensive experience in forestry, water and landscape management. She has a focus on mountain (primary) forests, forest ecology, biodiversity monitoring, and nature conservation.

Polona works for the Permanent Secretariat of the World Heritage “Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe”. The Secretariat is hosted at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences.

Marta Polizzi joins us as junior researcher. Her passion for spatial and temporal analysis, climate change, conservation ecology, animal behavior and bioacoustics sharp attention to detail will bring new perspectives and energy to our work! She has been involved in local bottom-up movements for the protection and re-appropriation of natural areas in urban contexts, and has experience with citizen science projects and environmental education.

Both are not only bringing their professional strengths but also a strong enthusiasm for teamwork and innovation—just what we need to grow and achieve our goals.

With fresh ideas and a wealth of expertise, we’re excited to tackle exciting projects together!
