  • This project will investigate and improve inclusiveness of educational courses especially for adults over 55 years with a special focus on micro credentials. Recent EU evidence shows lack of anti-discrimination provisions of older adults in higher education in some European countries (age-platform.eu). Because of the increasing life expectancy, countries support initiatives in Active Ageing that aim to achieve more independence in citizens of all ages, including their continuing vocational education and training in order to improve their entry or re-entry in work fields (data.consilium.europa.eu). Some European countries provide financial support for people who are under-represented in higher education, including mature learners and/or people with disabilities, in order to engage people from disadvantaged backgrounds (citizensinformation.ie). The increasing offer and discussion around micro credentials offers especially the selected target group the possibility to implement lifelong learning in form of micro credentials (European Commission 2022).
